I was intrigued by the ever-changing weather during our three days in Yosemite during this trip. This was our first winter visit to the park and the lack of crowds along with the cloak of snow revealed a new face of this old familiar friend. These differences together with the continually shifting weather made for an exciting new experience of this unique place. At times, the weather changed so quickly that peaks would appear and disappear within minutes. One day, just before sunset, conditions changed from a very light mist to heavy fog within a space of ten minutes. When I reflected on how swift the change had been and how quickly navigation could become quite tenuous, I was glad we only had to make our way back to the road and catch the shuttle to the lodge.
